The mission of IDA Kochi branch is to promote the public welfare by elevating the standard of dental science, art, and literature; to promote among dentists mutual improvement and collectively to have cognizance of the common interest of the dental profession in Kochi; to contribute to the elevation of the dental profession by encouraging a full and liberal interchange of opinions in methods of practice and the literary discussion of subjects relating to dentistry; to advance the standard of dental education; to promote the usefulness, honor and interests of its members; to enlighten and direct public opinion in regard to the duties, responsibilities, and requirements of the dental profession; and to secure the maintenance of a high order of professional excellence among its members. Membership in the IDA, Kochi branch represents a powerful commitment on your part to a continued growth as a professional, as an individual, and as a dentist. Now more than ever, professional growth and ?the growth of the profession? are virtually inseparable. Your membership, and your involvement, is imperative for the organization to carry forward the growth momentum. |

IDA Kochi, The first half of the calendar year is over and I presume we had a fairly good beginning. Thanks to your support and kind cooperation. As we look forward to the rest of the year, I wish to have suggestions from the members on the activities which you wish to have, the kind of programs what can make a difference and what not…anything on which we can work on. . |

I assure our members that we will make 2009 a great calendar year for all of us. Along with the Secretary, we intend to conduct good CDE programs, wonderful family get together functions, interesting & relaxing monthly meetings, fascinating locations for Executive meetings, good membership strength, cordial relationships among all our members, bring IDA to the public, involve dental fraternity in a larger scale with the School dental health program, conduct a major state function in our branch, bring BIDA to greater heights etc Let me also invite all our members, our sponsors and well wishers to join with IDA Kochi in making our dream home GCDS building a reality. We will form a building committee and will seriously delve into matters from day one to make this a reality. I thank the previous office members for giving IDA Kochi a great year in bringing back the unity and integrity it used to have during yesteryears. Thank you one and all.

This year we have worked with more cohesiveness and interest and that has given us good results as well. We have achieved record membership this year. We have numerous registrations in HOPE and IMAGE. We have many new members joining the association. We had a year with numerous activities and better attendance. We have improved on our journal and we have initiated our march to construct our own building. As we move on, we should also plan to achieve and create long term goals which could be a kind of value addition to the association. Treading back, we should be able to tell the next generation of dental surgeons about our origin, the great works of our senior members and pass on our legacy. Won’t it be nice to read the tunes of the founder members and also of the unsung heroes? Won’t it be nice to have a platform for all of us to gather, discuss and express ourselves and be what we really are? We have had numerous programs this year and sure we are going to have a few State Programs as well. July and August will host many more interesting activities which include- Teacher training program, NOHP, Spending a day with geriatrics, Adoption of Orphanage, Family meet, Adoption of a mentally and physically challenged school, State Dental Doctors sports meet, CDE & CDH Conveners meet, State CDE program on Oral Cancer, HOPE representatives meet, Onam celebrations, Dental exhibition, CDH activities etc Now the tempo which has been attained has to be maintained. And I am certain at the end of the year, we will be able to look back and say, indeed we had a great IDA year. Once again thanks to everyone’s support. Thank you one and all.
